What is the HSH Online Strength Training Program?
Our online strength training program is an approach to strength training that can be done around your busy life. We provide you with everything you need to work on building your strength alongside improving nutrition and your overall health. We do this using a range of detailed guides that can be used whatever your goal is – whether that’s body composition, improved sports performance, or injury rehabilitation.
Our online plan is ideal for anyone frustrated with making little or no progress in training or for those that need additional support and guidance in program design. We focus on a structured program design at the highest level and exercise execution. Our online personal trainer will then correct and optimise each program individually for each participant.
What’s Included in the Online Strength Training Program?
Once you’ve signed up for your first month of online strength training, you will receive an email containing everything you need to successfully complete the first block of your program:
- Strength training programs for your first block
- A detailed guide to proper nutrition
- A detailed guide to health supplementation
- A guide to Periworkout nutrition
- An info sheet detailing exercise coaching and instructions for capturing videos for analysis
How Does Online Strength Training Program Work?
Online strength training is done in phases (or blocks). The first block is equal for everyone but is suitable for all goals and different training frequencies. This first block is a necessary assessment point for us to determine your current ability, muscular balance and biomechanics, as well as your work capacity and your current strength.
This provides much more detailed insight than a one-time initial assessment and determines ongoing training programs and programs in addition to your main goals.
Once this first phase is complete, you will submit the completed program with short feedback information. Our online personal trainer will then put together a new phase based on this information and send it back to you to work on for a period of time.
How Do I Know I’m Doing it Right?
Whilst online coaching doesn’t involve face-to-face (or video) consultation, you will video yourself performing the exercise. Our online personal trainer will then review your form, technique and provide personalised feedback to optimise your execution and improve your results.
For this, we consider your current exercise execution and your biomechanics, allowing us to tailor feedback and support – almost like personal training, without the time and financial commitment.
What Equipment Do I Need?
To take part in our online performance coaching program, you’ll need the following equipment, easily available at most gyms:
- Squat Rack/Stand
- Barbell and plates
- Dumbbells
- Adjustable bench
- Cable pull/pulley attachment
Further training blocks may require additional equipment, such as a hamstring curl machine and 45° back extension; however, this will still be accessible at most gyms and will be communicated as your program progresses.
Because our online personal training places the primary focus on strength training, this list is non-negotiable.
If you need help purchasing equipment for your home gym or help to find a suitable public gym, email us, and we will be able to supply you with options suitable for your budget.
Is an Online Strength Training Program Right for Me?
An online personal trainer is ideal for those wanting to build strength and improve their athletic performance on their own terms, with minimal commitment.
Online plans are run on a rolling monthly basis and include everything you need to succeed.
However, we also offer a small number of in-person coaching spots if you feel that you would benefit more from face-to-face coaching over a longer period of time.

Is HSH suitable for all genders?
Yes. All genders can take part in our online strength training program. Once the initial training block is complete, the HSH Online Personal Training Team adjusts the program and recommendations based on current health status and goals.
Are the training programs adapted to my individual needs?
Yes. Whether fat loss, muscle building or any other goal, our HSH Online Coaching Team carefully selects the training programs based on your current status and personal goals once the initial training block is completed.
I am a complete beginner in strength training. Is online coaching a good option for me?
Yes, because we pick you up from where you are.
I have been doing strength training for a long time and consider myself advanced. Is online coaching a good option for me?
We work around your current ability and tailor a program to suit your needs.
How are the training programs individualised and adjusted without the in-person HSH Skinfold Measurement Analysis?
The in-person HSH skinfold measurement analysis (SMA) focuses on nutrition and health supplementation but has little influence on training planning. We cover many more critical factors in our online coaching, such as muscular balance, training progress and exercise execution.
Is there an assessment before the start of the program?
The first block of training programs you receive is an assessment block which provides insight into your muscular balance, work capacity, and neuromuscular development. This enables us to tailor ongoing programs more individually and specifically to your ability, body, and goals.
Does Roan carry out the coaching personally?
Yes, Roan will look after the HSH online coaching programming.
Is it possible to have an in-person or online consultation with Roan?
Yes, it is possible. Consultations can be added as an extra to your online coaching program; we offer either 1 hour or 30 minutes consultations which can be done before each new training block. Please note that this is an additional cost.

What is a block training program, and how long does this last?
A block of training programs consists of four consecutive phases that last 3 to 4 weeks each, depending on the training frequency. Each block is therefore designed for a total of 12 to 16 weeks.
Why is a training block used?
Each block is designed to achieve specific training goals. Rarely is a single phase of 3 to 4 weeks sufficient to accomplish these goals. That’s why we always plan periodic training programs in blocks of 4 training programs.
Do I have to go through every training block before the next one?
Some, but not all, will complete all four workouts in a training block before moving on to the next training block. Depending on individual progress, the coach can also decide to switch to a new block earlier if they see fit. Our HSH online coaching always moves to the next block based on the current status.
Training
How is the execution of the exercise coached?
You send us videos of your regular training in which you perform an exercise. We then give you feedback on every video to optimise your exercise execution. This way, we can coach you individually step by step and based on your biomechanics.
How often can I send photos to improve my exercise execution?
As often as you train. You are welcome to upload and send the videos of the hardest/last working set of all your exercises after each training session. We will then review the exercise and send you feedback on the execution.
Are there videos of each exercise?
Yes. We have a library of videos showing how to perform each exercise in our programs. However, this is only a secondary tool from experience. We primarily focus on you sending us videos of how you do the exercises. This way, we can coach you individually step by step and based on your biomechanics.
Do I always have to train all 4 training blocks before switching to the next one?
This is entirely dependent on your progress – the progress in exercise execution and the progress in training weights. Depending on these two factors, the HSH Coaching Team decides whether we will change blocks before the end of a training block.
Can I combine the HSH online coaching with cardio?
Yes. Online coaching focuses on strength training, which can also be supplemented with cardio. Depending on the volume and frequency of the cardio training, the strength training frequency can be adjusted. If you are unsure how many strength training sessions you should do in addition to cardio, email us with an overview of your current cardio training.
I do CrossFit, is the HSH online coaching program designed for me?
Yes. The focus of online coaching is strength training. Crossfit is a discipline of its own, but strength training is an essential basis for CrossFit and is therefore crucial for development in CrossFit. Depending on your current status and goal, we recommend completing two to four strength training units per week in addition to CrossFit. Recovery will determine the outcome of progress in the HSH coaching program.
Is HSH online programming suitable for rugby, football and other sports?
Yes. The focus of online coaching is strength training. Strength training is an essential basis for all sports. Depending on the current status and the training frequency in the sport, we recommend completing two to four units of strength training per week in addition to this. If you are unsure how many strength training units you should do in addition to your sport, email us with an overview of your current training week, and we will give you a recommendation.
I am injured. Can I do the HSH online training program?
Injury is one of a few scenarios where we do not offer an online coaching program. If you’re injured, you’ll need to first go through rehab with a qualified physical therapist. You can start online coaching with us as soon as you get the ok from your physio to do strength training again.
