Body Composition Analysis
Body composition analysis can tell us a lot about your body and what makes it tick. By providing insights into your current state of health, body fat sum and hormonal balance.
What is Body Composition Analysis?
Body composition analysis is a way of measuring body fat percentage and your overall health. This helps us determine the right nutrition and supplementation to support your progress.
The analysis is made up of skin fold analysis (the process of measuring body fat at 14 key parts of the body), continuous glucose monitoring, and the AC1Now self-check. You can learn more about these processes below.
Body composition analysis comes standard in our face-to-face performance coaching plans and is available for an additional cost for online performance coaching plans.
What is Skin Fold Analysis?
Skin fold analysis determines body fat percentage by measuring body fat at 14 key areas across the body. This information provides valuable information about how your body works, how it digests and uses nutrients, and gives insight into what factors influence your body. With this information in mind, we can devise a personalised nutrition plan that supports your goals.
What Can Body Composition Analysis Tell Us?
Whilst it’s never a good idea to get caught up on numbers, the ideal body fat percentage is around 10% for men and 16% for women. That being said, there are various factors that can influence this, which we identify with body composition analysis. We consider 14 key areas for body composition analysis, a few of which can be seen below:
What is Continuous Glucose Monitoring and the A1CNow Self Check?
Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is a process of monitoring blood sugar levels over a period of 14 days, similar to what diabetics do. With a CGM monitor, you can regularly scan the sensor with your smartphone to check your glucose level, helping us to identify which foods and environmental factors impact your glucose and stress levels the most. These are key factors that can severely impact strength and performance progress.
Meanwhile, an A1C haemoglobin test is a finger prick test (only available for in-person consultations) which provides insight into the effects of glucose and stress levels on the body over three months. This information is similarly useful to CGM but is also a valuable marker for those experiencing stress-related disorders, thyroid issues, gut health issues, hormonal dysregulation and weight loss difficulties.
No diet works for everyone, and nutrition needs to be tailored to each individual. However, CGM and A1C monitoring help us understand how your body tolerates sugar and carbohydrates, thus allowing us to tailor a strength training program and nutritional advice that works for your unique body.

FAQs
How are the training programs individualised and adjusted without the in-person HSH Skinfold Measurement Analysis?
The in-person HSH skinfold measurement analysis (SMA) focuses on nutrition and health supplementation but has little influence on training planning. We cover many more critical factors in online coaching, such as muscular balance, training progress and exercise execution.
Can I include the HSH skinfold measurement analysis results in the online coaching?
If you are based in the UK and willing to travel, skinfold measurement analysis can be added as an additional service to your online coaching program. This can be done before each new training block or when it is best suited for your needs.
