Functional Nutrition
Functional nutrition is all about eating for a specific purpose – increasing strength, weight & fat loss, sporting performance, or optimal health and well-being.
What is Functional Nutrition?
Functional nutrition is the process of tailoring your diet to support a specific purpose, e.g.:
- Weight & Fat loss, gain, or maintenance
- Increasing & Building strength
- Improving muscle mass
- Endurance
- Athletic accuracy
- General athletic performance & output
- Rehabilitation
What are the Benefits of Functional Nutrition?
The main aim of functional nutrition is to improve cellular function to optimise your overall health and improve performance. Your cells are built from and are fueled by the nutrients you consume, and the classic phrase “you are what you eat” isn’t too far from the truth, but with physical and mental strength and performance, “you become what you eat and absorb” is more accurate.
- Managing and improving the body’s inflammation
- Improves recovery time
- Detoxification
- Gut and bowel health
- Fat loss
- Improving gene expression for resilience
- Improve strength
What Does Eating Look Like with Functional Nutrition?
Simply put, with functional nutrition, food looks great. Provided that your food choices support your goals, there’s no reason it can’t be delicious. You just have to ensure that your diet is tailored to your circumstances and specific goals.
However, remember that no diet works for everyone – nutrition needs to be tailored to each individual and their specific goals. CGM and CC1 blood monitoring help us to understand how you tolerate physical and mental stressors, therefore allowing us to create an informed nutrition plan that works for your unique body. Still delicious but functional.
